Get engaged in our community
United Way of West Alabama will get you connected to our community through a choice of meaningful volunteer opportunities. Rock a baby, read to a child, paint a school, mentor a high school student, help a single mom...the opportunities to change a life in our community are endless. United Way of West Alabama will help you find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you.

Volunteer Day of Action
United Way of West Alabama is sponsoring our 3rd annual volunteer Day of Action in support of children’s education! United Way is partnering with Adopt-A-School and the Literacy Council of West Alabama to sign up volunteers to read for 30 minutes to kindergarten through 5th grade classes in Tuscaloosa City Schools and Tuscaloosa County Schools during assigned reading blocks on Tuesday, March 2.
Please use this link to register online by February 19, and please share this opportunity with anyone you know who would like to volunteer. You will be notified prior to March 2 of your reading time and school location. Please contact Amanda Booth (amanda@uwwa.org) or Rusty Smith (rusty@uwwa.org) if you have any questions.
